Agnetha Faltskog
Agnetha is better known as a part of ABBA and not as a single artist in Sweden. ABBA was one of the top pop groups ever, both commercially and globally. After leaving school at the age of 15 to follow a musical career after which she began singing with Bernt Enghardt's band and gained a cult following. Enghardt secured her a contract with a record contract. She soon reached the high end of the Swedish charts with her debut single. Bjornulvaeus, whom she later wed as her boyfriend, was also in the mix as she joined ABBA. ABBA was among the greatest pop acts throughout the world over the time period of 8 years. They won Gold and Platinum awards all over the globe. In the years following ABBA her three albums -'Wrap Your Arms Around Me', 'Eyes of a Woman' and 'I stand alone'. All of which garnered great success in Sweden and grew in popularity across Europe and beyond, but she never quite made a mark in the U.S. When the 1980s ended her career took an unofficial retirement. The music of ABBA was featured as the theme of a show on jukeboxes called "Mamma Mia!. It was also a hit in the U.K., 'My Coloring Book" has reached the top spot at 11. The latest album 'A', has also been well-received.
